Overview

The Monolithic (Seamless) Fluid Applied Reinforced Roofing System (FARR)

Overview

One of the most critical components of any structure is the roof. It functions as a shell from harsh external elements. Western Colloids Monolithic FARR (fluid appplied roofing) system was carefully engineered to accomplish this goal. The various components of the system were designed to work together – chemically bonding with one another - and to the roof substrate (100% adhesion) – to form a near impenetrable membrane. A membrane that with normal periodic maintenance and a “refresher” layer of the radiant barrier applied every ten years – will last a lifetime.

Fully-Adhered System

The technology behind the FARR system is unique. The various layers are fluid applied directly to the roof substrate. The various reinforced layers are engineered to chemically bond with each other and the roof substrate – the end result being a solid, multilayered, reinforced monolithic (seamless) membrane – that totally seals the roof from water penetration.

Proven Performance

The FARR roofing system was developed over 45 years ago by the founder of Western Colloid. Since then, it has been installed on tens of millions of square feet of buildings by some of the largest corporations in the world.

Once properly installed, a fluid applied reinforced roofing membrane can withstand extreme elements and stresses encountered with typical building movement. The chemical composition withstands the extreme heat of the sun’s UV rays, extending the life of the roof.

“I have overseen dozens of roof replacements throughout my career as a facilities manager. The fluid applied reinforced roofing system we recently installed is one of the most cost effective, impressive solutions I have ever encountered. I wouldn’t even consider a different system,”
Mike Williams, Frito Lay, Plano Texas

Flexibility/Versatility

The flexibility of the FARR roofing system, a liquid applied roofing system, is particularly advantageous when you have a complicated multi-level roof and/or one that has numerous penetrations as those shown here.

True Sustainability

• The only roof that lasts as long as the building

• No complicated or expensive maintenance procedures

• Nothing to tear off, reducing environmental waste and
associated costs

• Can be installed over structures with two roofs already in place.

• Ownership costs much less than comparable roof systems

Lifespan

Monolithic Roofing Solutions FARR systems deliver a protective recovery membrane that extends the service life of both the roof and the buildings HVAC equipment. By preserving the existing substrate, Monolithic Roofing Solutions FARR roofing system can convert an unsustainable roof to a sustainable roof that lasts the life of the building. Unlike traditional roof materials, Fluid applied reinforced roofing systems are engineered to retain permanent flexibility, ensuring a seamless, watertight membrane that protects leak points with no need for additional accessories.
